馬林魚昨與道奇進行客場4連戰首役，比賽開打前，道奇球場播放電視劇《寇特，歡迎歸來》的主題曲，向2013到15年帶領道奇拿下國聯西區3連霸的前道奇教頭，也是現任馬林魚教頭麥汀利致敬，陳偉殷也用馬林魚生涯首勝力挺麥帥。
麥汀利過去5年擔任道奇總教練，戰績446勝363敗，近3年道奇都闖進季後賽，但也連2年在分區系列賽出局，去年10月他和道奇協議分道揚鑣，之後轉任馬林魚總教練。昨日首度以客隊教頭身份回到熟悉的道奇球場，有球迷用歡呼聲迎接麥帥，但也有噓聲。
憶起在道奇的時光，麥汀利表示：「我在這裡有過很多很棒的經歷，很難找出最棒的一個。」相對於數不清的美好回憶，他也說，自己在道奇最大的遺憾，就是沒能帶領球隊征戰世界大賽。
如今以馬林魚教頭身份重返洛城，美媒認為，麥汀利的笑容中少了在道奇時的壓力，肢體語言感覺更輕鬆，但麥汀利說：「我在這裡感受到的的贏球壓力就和過去一樣，當一名總教練或教練，你總是想著要贏球。」
在道奇執教的經歷讓麥汀利在接掌馬林魚兵符的第1年增添不少信心，「這是支很年輕、有潛力的球隊，我們有一段路要走，但我想我們會變得很有競爭力。」把馬林魚打造成如道奇一樣讓球員嚮往的球隊，也是麥汀利目前面臨的挑戰。
